During the Pandemic, NC A&T's ITS received many requests for digital process improvement solutions. Some required long-term investments/commitments. However, many solutions could be found using applications that we already had available at the University.
One such request was from HR with a need to digitalize a form. Keeping to a short implementation schedule, we created a workflow using Microsoft Apps and Adobe Sign that turned a normally manual paper activity into a digital process that took a matter-of-minutes to complete.
Our solution was a big success and received university wide praise. We also received a lot of inquiries from departments asking “How can I do that?” or “How can I create that?” Our very simple solution sparked a lot of interest in improving other manual processes!
In this workshop, we will discuss how we rode this momentum and three things we did to help departments examine their current workflows and implement their own digital solutions.
